Review on Portable Computer Monitor Extender - 11.6" IPS, Compact, Foldable, 60Hz by Vodzsla by Dan Jackson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Positive, negative and whether to buy

This is a half length review aimed at my mobile colleagues who just can't work with a single screen. Short version: BUY. Long version: I have a home office and a work office, 5 screens each, all powered. on my laptop so using a screen when I'm out is just a problem. I tried AOC's offline mobile screen, too big (15.6), with too many cables, and it broke after a plane trip (people and their carry-ons!). When I saw this one I decided to give it a try. I'm using a Lenovo 13.3" Slim with 1 HDMI out, 1 USBC out (video) and 2 USB ports. Pros: The 11.6 screen size is perfect for a 13-14-15 inch laptop , not too big not too small and most importantly not too heavy (which is an issue if you've tried this before), they stay attached to the screen without pressing on the laptop's hinges. It has a small kickstand to support the weight but it's not needed Installation time: 90 seconds if at all Once you figure out the cables it will be very quick I'm using an HDMI + USB for a screen (since HDMI doesn't provide power, do you need usb) and the second screen is usbc so only one cable is needed only 3 cables i should note there are many other cable configurations in the retail packaging you will receive so you don't have to buy anything it's all included in the packaging it: Learning from past mistakes, I bought a hard case (there are a lot of laptops at Revain, I use Nacuwa) and kept rolled up screens in it. Works great and has survived several flights so far :-) Negative: Brightness. Let me be specific; If you do most of your work indoors (Starbucks etc) this is NOT a problem AT ALL, the screens are amazing, but if you work outdoors you will feel that the brightness is a little "too dim". In fact, most of us don't work outside in bright sunshine, but in cafes and common areas, so that's not a problem, but a good overview speaks for itself. Would I buy this again? YES. I'd like two screens and some plastic to be $150-$170 instead of $350, but I don't think there's a price ceiling yet. Looking at all the other dual screen setups this model is good quality, at a lower price and with a hard case to protect it (buy one!), I can see they will last for many years. HTN.
