A completely ordinary product, nothing remarkable.

In general, a good impression of the device, with the exception of a big hemorrhoid with the installation of drivers. Works quite accurately.

Pros
  • An excellent new technology that allows in many cases to save the budget.
Cons
  • Very complicated driver installation. I couldn’t install it the first time, I had to go through three different computers (it didn’t install on any) and read different forums for almost a week. It turns out that this problem with HTC occurs quite often and there is no unambiguous solution to this problem, everyone solves it differently. This was solved for me by installing additional C ++ libraries in Windows 10. That is, after installation there was no connection between the Tracker and the Base, and only after a dance with tambourines and a week of searching for a solution, a connection between them appeared.

Not all that bad, but there are minuses.

Overall, a positive first impression, with the exception of a major bleed during the driver installation process. It's a good approximation.

Pros
  • A cutting-edge innovation that can reduce costs in numerous scenarios.
Cons
  • Putting in new drivers is a major hassle. I spent about a week reading various online forums and trying to install it on three different machines before I finally succeeded. As it turns out, this is a common issue with HTC, and since there is no clear answer to it, people find their own ways to deal with it. Adding more C++ libraries to Windows 10 fixed the problem for me. In other words, the Tracker and the Base didn't talk to each other after installation, and it took a week and a tambourine dance to figure out why.

Possibly the worst update for my VR setup

I had a broken version 2.0 so I decided to update all my trackers to version 3.0. I seem to have encountered a common problem among other 3.0 users which is an error code (436) that doesn't have a clear 100% solution. I've applied the solution over a dozen times and it doesn't work except at a random point (usually when I've spent 3 hours rebooting and wiping the USB data as suggested by Valve for the 20th time) . This made a simple click and thong in vrgear in click, hopefully it works without

Pros
  • Discover VIVE Tracker
Cons
  • High price
