I was really hoping I would never need this tool. I have used my kitchen knife for the past several years. Needless to say I had to use this knife yesterday and was surprised it cuts like butter! Much easier than a kitchen knife. I would advise you to buy specifically for machine embroidery.

This set of two tools includes a scalpel like knife and hook to remove bird fluff from your machine. I have used it several times. I put the knife between the fabric and the needle plate. Made a clean cut with no tension. I took it to class and others took it several times a week. So many people said they would like to buy it. Great sewing tool. There is nothing like it.

I have changed my rating to 5 stars. These tools work great. I gave 4 stars because it just arrived and I haven't been able to use it yet. I tried to open the cover and the zipper broke. I would probably return this one and buy another, but since it's more complicated than the item's price, I'll improvise and make something to use as a zipper instead.
