Great AM/FM radio but expensive

Sony's Walkman AM/FM radio is the best. But before it was a $29 purchase at Walmart, buying an unused Sony will now cost you hundreds of dollars.

Pros
  • Nice deal
Cons
  • No insurance

Great AM/FM bodypack

This is the 4th or 5th of this model that I own. It has good reception and clear sound reproduction. Once you've saved your preset stations, you can select them in the dark without looking at the radio. The only problem is that after months or years of use, some keys will become harder to press over time, necessitating replacement.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • For old

Although the radio is ok I would add a star if there was a headset.

Although the radio is ok I would add a star if the headset was friendlier. Rather than being a cup that fits over the ear and stays in place snugly during exercise, they just slip over the ear and fall off after a few steps, even as they get tighter. I've replaced the headset with the best I have so the radio is more workable now.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Not as good as advertised

This radio has excellent reception, easy to program

This is my third Sony radio. The first two were damaged through no fault of the radio. This radio has excellent reception, is easy to program and is large in size. The only downside to this radio is the clip on the back that holds it in place. In my opinion this is too small. This radio is easy to finish. You can also do better than using the included headphones. But these are minor issues. The radio is worth the money.

Pros
  • Looking forward to it
Cons
  • Not sure

OK, not great. for radios

I wear them when I'm in the garden or outside. Reception is fine as long as there's no interference and I'm looking in the right direction. The only thing that worries me a lot is that when I clip it to my pants, then when I lean in, I press the channel button and end up changing the channel. It would be great if you could lock down the station. If a station is clean, that's great, but that doesn't happen with all stations that I like. With that in mind, I'm giving it 4 stars, which is…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Update Availability

I had one of these models a few years ago and really liked it. Reception can be a bit weak at times, but overall a really good device. Lightweight, and I love the lock so you don't accidentally change anything, and the old-style rollerball for volume - allows you to quickly mute or turn up the volume. The supplied headphones are very cheap - you should buy better ones so you don't hear any extraneous noise and get a better sound.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Thin

I like hearing reports during the game.

Only gets 4 instead of 5 stars because the maximum volume is just right for a soccer game. I have University of Michigan subscriptions and with over 110,000 fans it can get pretty loud. I like listening to step-by-step playback while gaming, and even at max volume it can be hard to hear. I'll try using headphones in my next game to see if that fixes the issue. Other than that, it's a good compact device and works well.

Pros
  • Something more
Cons
  • Minor problems

Perfect for gardening and walks

I've been using headphones with built in FM radio for gardening and walks for years. NPR has come and gone, and it's been very frustrating. I just went for a walk with my new Sony Walkman and tried two FM stations. As I was walking through the woods, NPR came in with a little problem, as it sometimes happens in my house. This little thing is a huge improvement. He is light as a feather. I used my own headphones. I haven't tried the headphones but they have an antenna built in so the reception…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions

Sony Walkman arrived today. Now I tuned it into the local AM station and it sounds great. The radio is much smaller than it looks in the picture. Measures approximately 3 inches long, 2 inches high and 1 inch thick with an attached belt clip. This radio is small enough to fit in a shirt pocket. Belt clip questionable, less than 2 cm long. Other posts say it will fall off the strap and that's my opinion too. I think for the price this is a great product. The headphones that come with the radio…

Pros
  • Wide Range
Cons
