Kevlar sleeves are perfect for my large woman hands and provide ample protection from cat scratches and bites when trimming nails, grooming and administering unwanted medication with my less-lovable kittens. Odd plus: for some reason my cats don't like the taste or texture of the gloves and they only try to bite once and never again. The gloves easily catch on the sharp claw, but not so much that the gloves are damaged. Even the sharpest claws that need to be cut have not pierced the knitwear after repeated use. I'm not sure I would trust knitted Kevlar gloves to provide adequate protection from really aggressive cats or other bites from extremely aggressive animals, especially those with stronger jaws like aggressive dogs. When in doubt, I wear braided Kevlar mittens over these Kevlar gloves. Kirk probably couldn't make it through either. The gloves are not light, but being roughly half fingered they do not impede dexterity; and despite being double-layered, they feel somewhat "breathable" and don't cause discomfort from the heat when worn indoors. I have not yet used gloves when working with our brush burn, but I assume they offer adequate protection from the heat.
