On a recent flight on a budget airline, I saw another traveler combine his bag with a regular backpack, giving it the appearance of a personal item. I have a trip ahead of me, planning to do the exact same thing, plus I can use this for daily touring and sightseeing and have my hands free. It's really comfortable, has drink pockets that come in handy on summer trips to hot places, and has plenty of room! I just got a new backpack from a luggage store, similar items cost $40 or more there. So this is great value too!
