The box arrived quite damaged but the shoes weren't scuffed or scratched so it's not too much of a problem for me as I don't hoard boxes of boots/boots. The bottom center of the sole is not flat, it starts out flat at the toe and sides and then starts to curve up and down in the center as shown in the picture. I don't think it should be like most other shoes and boots in the classic style are just flat or have a tread pattern. There were extra seams in some places that I also trimmed that I was unable to photograph before trimming almost all of the seams on the sides and where the leather and black stretch sections meet. Overall, even for a lower price point of around $45 compared to many classic boots and shoes, I would have expected a slightly better build quality, but it's still better than paying $100-$200.
