to replace the cheap case that Samsung gives with this tablet. Samsung tended to open a laptop case, turn on the screen, and then drain the battery. This case was great. It's a bit thicker and heavier than the cheap Samsung, but it's not thick or heavy. Also, the magnets on the case keep the lid closed, which extends battery life. Easy to set up and view hands-free. Thick enough around the edges to protect your overpriced investment. A note. Some lids activate the sleep function before fully closing, so you know it's working (like the light in the fridge), but it's not. I checked. You just have to trust that it works. And it really is. Very happy with this case. UPDATE APRIL 2016: Downgraded to 3 stars due to case sleep function no longer working. Or rather, it only works if used *carefully*. It hasn't been abused or abandoned, but it has been used regularly. It still works, just not as expected every time.
