Works great with non-RGB or ARGB motherboards

For use with legacy Sabertooth 990fx and 8350 OC computers to control all addressable components. Will drive most ws2811 ws2812b leds. Every type I tried worked with this motherboard. Unknown brands also work. The only limitation is 72 LEDs per channel or more importantly only 5V, 5A as this is NOT limited by itself like ASUS does. Since I wanted to use Phantek Halo rings around my Corsair ML heatsink fans along with a custom ring for my 60mm Noctua, my solution was to use a 3-pin XSPC RGB addressable hub, which has 8 more connections or allows a total of 6.5 amps. I needed a bit more so I created an extra 5 volt extension cord to add. The results were phenomenal. This is the most beautiful computer I've ever built. For my wife it had to be natural. The controller has a lot of options, although I avoided fan control or the temperature option, but all of that plus the ability to fully power the PC on and off for $40. The value couldn't be better. It has more preset modes than I've seen on many other controllers, including the ASUS Aura, but what it lacks is the ability to update libraries for additional patterns. Other than that, I can't think of any other additional templates I might want. Also, the pattern save function (hold the button down for 3 seconds) doesn't work very well. Not sure if I have a faulty controller or it's just not working as well, but it looks like something is being delayed, either by the internal processor used to switch modes or by the controller itself. I intend Silverstone to contact regarding this as I would have preferred the controller/remote response time to have worked a bit better. I know it's not about the strength of the connection because it's okay no matter how far I go. Response time (and no ability to save) is pretty painful, which is why it deducted a star, but as far as standalone controllers go, in terms of compatibility, options, and features, I can't think of a better choice for the money.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Definitely bad product
