I bought two of these for my cast iron pans. I used to use plastic scrapers with nylon bristles which didn't work very well and didn't hold the bristles well. Then I tried stainless steel scrubbers; too much spice removed. After that I used "post" stainless steel scrubbers. Hot water refers to burned fingers from excessive friction. This product is perfect. The bristles are stiff enough to remove dirt without destroying the well-developed non-stick coating (especially important on my cast iron shallow egg pan). The wooden handles are quite ergonomic, allowing for a firm grip and protecting my bare fingers from pure hot water. You work quickly, even with heavy residues. They rinse off easily and dry quickly when aired out overnight, so you can store them out of sight in a drawer later. If they wear out over time I will buy them again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
