I read the reviews before purchasing this mattress pad. I'm reading a pair of each star but all 1 star, looking for a pattern. The most I read was that it fell apart in the middle or other parts of the pillow. Mine didn't do that at all and stayed exactly the same as when it first happened except the smell is gone now and it wasn't a problem for me at all. What I can tell you is that he turned the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever slept on into a very comfortable sleeping mattress. (thank goodness) Now because of all the negative posts I've decided to mark a corner with a black marker. Now every time I change the sheets I move them around the mattress (it takes 5 seconds) and I think that's why my pillow kept its shape. I hope this little post helps you. In my opinion it is worth the money.
