The design of the shelf is very simple and not intended for heavy objects. Everything is connected and needs to be put together like a puzzle. There are 6 small curved flanges, about the size of a standard index fingernail, attached to the frame at 3 levels to hold each shelf section. A flange came loose before I put anything on it; To hold it together I used small zip ties which are sturdier and more secure than flanges. I needed something urgently but was too lazy to exchange/return. It's not exactly what I need, I'm still looking, but it works as a small/simple fix to a persistent bathroom storage problem. I wouldn't recommend that at this point.
