One of the first things I bought when I started climbing in 1982 was a pair of SIGG bottles, one for gas and one for water. I bought new bottle caps almost immediately: a custom fill cap for the fuel bottle and a custom bite-type drink cap for the one that held my water. dust cap. These caps get a lot of use and need to be replaced from time to time, which wasn't a problem for me until I bought the dust cap pictured above. Cutting the loop to size will not keep the cap securely locked. Not having a fully calibrated eyeball can't provide exact measurements, but the lid itself seems too flat to accommodate the bite tip. It is possible that the specifications of these special caps have changed in the last 35 years. years, but I doubt I'm the only one using "veteran" gear. I'd like to see some sort of caveat that pays attention to resizing.
