I decided to take a solar charger with me on my trip instead of a portable battery because I was concerned that the cold would drain the portable battery too quickly. Also, I wanted to test the durability and reliability of the solar charger. Four days of hiking in the desert and it has held up well. I attached it to the outside of my backpack (see picture) where it got a bit bumpy, but it still works as it should. The fast charger is really fast. My phone (Galaxy S10) charged quickly, almost like it was plugged into an outlet. In direct sunlight, it charges relatively quickly. The only thing to keep in mind is that this is a solar charger and direct sunlight can cause heat issues on your devices. You can store your phone in the inner case, but I found it better to store it under the cover of the case. It is thicker and offers better thermal protection. Or, if possible, place your devices in the shade when charging with a longer cable. Some rough numbers - my phone went from 40% to about 75% in just under 30 minutes. At some point I forgot to protect my phone from the sun and it only added 10% power in 20 minutes before my phone automatically cut off charge to protect itself. The phone was very hot but that was my fault. Comes with a DC cord and two small carabiners. It has two USB ports and only one for fast charging. I really like this solar panel. It packs quite a punch for a relatively small and light device. This is a great option when you are outdoors and need it as part of an emergency kit or bag.
