As far as build quality goes, it's almost too much. I was surprised at how thick and heavy this cable is and wonder if it's physically needed. I'm not a music lover so I can't comment on the sound quality. was broken and I needed a special collared cable to fit the notch built into the Sony headphone jack. I don't understand why Sony has such a notch, but obviously if you just buy a regular cable it won't stay securely in place unless it has a collar that fits the notch. Anyway, this one suits Sony very well. Pure random. I was glad there was such a cable.
