Do yourself a favor and only use this stencil on smooth walls! I had an orange peel texture that resulted in the edges not being as sharp. I knew from the start that I had to go back and touch it up with a small brush, so I just did it. line details). I was able to use it 2-3 times then it had to be cleaned. I used painters tape to hold it in place as I've heard mixed reviews about screen glue. I worked bottom out from the center, trimming the stencil as needed to make the sides and top. This is a BOLD stencil. So if you want something a little more subdued, consider a lighter shade no matter what color you use. I originally intended to use the same navy blue as the vanity, but after trying it out on a piece of paper I found that the stencil size and dark color was overwhelming. I actually wish it was a shade lighter... But the beauty of stencils is that if you change your mind, they can easily be painted over!
