I bought it to watch sports, especially soccer, without having to pay for cables. I can watch the three main channels (NBC, CBS, FOX) in HD without any problems. Most of the other channels I receive in my area are standard definition, and many of the channels I receive are redundant and have unreliable reception. As with any antenna, you will need to move it to find the best reception area. I could only receive 5 channels when placed under my TV. Moving it about 3 feet and placing it next to the window gave me access to another 41. You could try moving it a little more, or switch from the Large Radius setting to the Close setting. I wish the built in coax was longer because now I need an adapter to plug it into my TV and still be able to hide the small digitizer box that comes with it.
