I was concerned that this item might be too fragile to bump into in the kitchen and too light to hold most things securely. Will it tip over and break? But the holder didn't feel fragile when I picked it up, and it felt heavy enough to get the job done. The holder was a present for my son's friend who had moved out and changed her color scheme from red to "light blue" (turquoise blue). I held my breath on Christmas when she opened the gift. The blue matched the rest of the kitchen countertop perfectly. I immediately put four or five cooking spoons in it and the stand didn't fall off. She later added more utensils and the holder still held without tipping over. I can therefore fully recommend this product, especially since my son's girlfriend thinks it's so cute (owls are her animal).
