Works very well. Cut a small piece of wax paper and stick it on the end before using. I read the reviews before buying, many complained that it's hard to tear off because it sticks to the reel. Before using it I added a small square of wax paper at the end. Every time I use it I keep wax paper when wrapping the box. I take it off when I'm ready to cut the same piece of wax paper and glue it back onto the end. No problem. Much easier than fragile to write around the box.
