We bought this unit for quick and easy set up at one off events and it met our needs. All you have to do is plug the receiver into a power source and connect 2 XLR cables and you can be up and running in less than 5 minutes. The wireless microphones are loud and clear, with good signal at close range (up to 30 feet) and no interference. Batteries last several hours and we always use fresh batteries. This isn't the kind of mic you'll take into a crowd or use in the back of a crowded place. For this use case you need a UHF microphone with large antennas on the receiver. Yes, the build quality is mostly plastic, but that's to be expected. at this price point and it helps keep things light and portable. If you handle the device properly and store it between uses, it will last a long time. We use Casematix with adjustable foam inserts and remove the batteries from the microphones when not in use.
