These booties are a perfect match for our Beagle. We ordered them in medium size. Pros: - They have an elastic band in the middle of the toe which I would call an ankle area on a dog. It attaches with Velcro, which allows you to easily adjust the sock depending on the size of the dog's paw. It also helps keep the sock in place, making the dog less likely to pull it off. These socks did an excellent job of restraining paw licking. Cons: none yet. I will update if necessary. All in all these are pretty good little booties. They are mesh on top so I wouldn't buy them if your goal is to keep your dog's paws dry in the rain. But for keeping paws clean in the grass, to protect your dog from hot pavement, or if you need something to cover bandages or stop compulsive paw licking, this is a great option. They are also ideal for dogs who tend to slip on the floor as the underside is made of non-slip material. My dog is not quite used to wearing them yet but they are great for the purpose we ordered them for.
