First of all, this mirror works great when you are sitting to apply makeup, otherwise it is difficult to use it while standing. Each time, every mistake is highlighted. It even made it onto my travel essentials list. The mirror is nice and clear, but the brighter light brings out the imperfections in my face, which is good for makeup, but not necessarily jewelry trials. I was worried that the 10x retractable mirror wouldn't work properly because it doesn't have a backlight. It worked better than my very expensive home mirror. My only concern is that I tried to adjust the stand compared to my old vanity mirror, but the angle adjustment isn't very good. Love the fact that you can use either the battery or the USB power cable. I recommend using a USB power cable as the battery doesn't last as long.
