Set of 6 12" dinner plates. Firstly it is described as having a "narrow rim" which is an inaccurate description, the rim is actually very wide, 2 1/4 inches. These are huge slabs with a usable area in the center of 7 3/4". I have new European style cabinets and the bottom shelf has wood paneling on the back. So when I put them on the bottom shelf, the first panel hits the panel and I can't close the cabinet door. They simply fit on the nearest shelf that doesn't have this trim, but they EASILY fit. Make sure your cabinet will fit a 12" deep panel, the old cabinets we took out were less than 12" deep so they wouldn't fit. In terms of quality, this melamine is of excellent quality. It's thick and heavy melamine, not flimsy cheap material. They fit in my dishwasher but are not microwave or oven safe if you are new to melamine. I grew up with him and I love him. It's tough and they can be handled roughly without hesitation. I like the white ones and because they are so big I tend to use them for serving, I also have the correct 10" plates and I prefer this size for a dinner plate, you can see them side by side in my photo. And I've put a standard Corelle dinner plate on top for a size reference. The 12" is good if you have something large like a steak where you need a little extra room. These are very durable cymbals, they have a smooth ring on the bottom so they don't scratch and come in contact with the table They feel very good and look great however the description should be changed these are large wide rimmed plates I would recommend them.
