It's only great because there are no better alternatives. The reason it's great is that it satisfies my needs but not my wants. I work a lot with my Macbook on my lap in a lying position and this product meets my needs with a mouse at my side. however: - it's literally a round piece of wood with an attached velcro bean bag. someone came up with it, quickly created it and put it up for sale. - The first problem is very annoying, which is that the mouse constantly slides off the surface. I thought about it before I bought it but I figured it wouldn't be that bad for me because it won't tilt that much but just tilt a little and the mouse flies every time I take my hand away. - I was able to solve the above problem by following another reviewer's recommendation and adding duct tape and duct tape. Permanently attached with no Velcro or raised edges to keep the mouse in place.
