Small, engaging, pieces don’t stay connected

My almost 3 year old is really enjoying these matching food cards. Each square has a food on each side and connects in the middle. So it’s a step up from basic matching games as they have to see half of a grape, realize it’s a grape, find the other half and then connect them together. My son has some development delays so learning and recognizing items is something he’s working on. This has been very helpful during his therapy sessions and since there are so many pictures it keeps him engaged for a long time. The only negative I have is that the pieces don’t stay connected. They fit so loosely that if you touch them with the lightest touch (while connected) they instantly come apart. We’ve used these on a rug, hardwood floor and on a table. we had this issue on all surfaces which caused some frustration for my son. Would I purchase this again? Yes. it’s educational and fun. Would I give this as a gift? Yes. in fact I’ve already purchased another set as a gift for my sons speech therapist since she loved using ours so much.

Pros
  • My 3 year old loved it. He enjoyed playing with them, the colors are bright. Good quality.
