Review on 💻 Samsung Chromebook 4+ 15.6" Full HD, Intel Celeron N4000, 6GB RAM, 64GB eMMC, Gigabit Wi-Fi, Chrome OS - XE350XBA-K03US, Silver by Dylan Goins

I've been looking for a cheap laptop for work for a long time. I have a beefy gaming PC at home, but I wanted something completely separate and portable for non-gaming needs like web browsing and word processing. Also, I've been trying to read more and sometimes this leads me to use the Kindle app on my phone. I was drawn to the Chromebook Plus (V2) because of an attempt to make it more like a tablet and use Android apps. Overall the product works exactly as described. The screen is good, although the default settings make things like the app shelf, window borders, and pointer size too large compared to the parts of the screen that are used. It's a variable when you play around with the settings, though, and I have no complaints. The keyboard is fantastic and responsive. The touchscreen is pretty good, if not quite up to the iPad's touchscreen perfection. Sometimes I miss when I try to click something with my finger, or maybe it doesn't register at all. It happens so rarely that it's still quite useful. The stylus is good too, although I only used it for drawing in the Google Keep Notes app as it wasn't my main selling point. Battery life is about what is advertised; For example, yesterday I used it lightly from 7:30 to 2:30 and it only got about 50%. Folding it up for tent and tablet mode is a bit awkward given the size and the fact that the keyboard is always connected, but it works. I just prefer it as a laptop to a tablet most of the time. Performance is acceptable given the hardware. On my other computer with a much more powerful processor and more RAM, I notice a slight lag when navigating the web and using multiple apps. Still, it's not bad at all, and the comparison is actually pretty unfair. My main complaint really just relates to the quality of the touchpad for using the cursor. It works well but is a bit choppy and unresponsive to slight and subtle movements when trying to be precise. Again, this may not be fair as the last few laptops I've used have been MacBooks and those touchpads are incredibly smooth, but still worth mentioning. Overall I am very happy with my purchase. The problems I described aren't really problems at all, they're little quirks that I've gotten used to. It works with everything a Chromebook is supposed to work for, and it does it well.
