Review on πŸ”’ Superior Security with Top-Quality Surface Protection by Jose Guevara

Very cheaply made - caution Emptor

The low price of this mirror appealed to me and the advertising text was convincing. But I thought it was worth mentioning a few things that make this mirror less appealing after 24 hours of ownership. First, the description brags that it comes with three sets of fasteners, which I found handy. It wasn't comfortable, that is. Like me, I would have guessed that many potential customers would probably want to mount it on their garage wall, which is usually drywall, but none of these three sets of hardware were designed for drywall. I had my own drywall mounting screws but that looks like a major oversight on the part of whoever decided what to include. My other comment concerns the design of this mirror. Both the mirror and body are plastic, and assembly involves peeling paper from a piece of 1" x 1" double-sided tape glued to a round piece of foam glued to the center of the mirror body is. I did this making sure to press down firmly on the center of the mirror to ensure a good grip between the mirror and the double sided tape. I mounted the mirror on my garage wall at an angle of about 30 degrees down to see the gap between the car's fender and the wall and after 24 hours I found the mirror on the garage floor, slightly scratched. A round piece of styrofoam has come loose from the case. I wrapped industrial strength 3M double sided tape around the body and taped a strip of it around the entire perimeter of the mirror body to hold the mirror in place. Time will tell if that works. If not, it will be another case of "you get what you pay for" and I will spend more on a quality glass mirror.

Pros
  • safety mirror
Cons
  • boring packaging
