Working on the restoration of my grandmother's old sewing machine. This included cleaning. The strut on the belt broke through the material and could not be reactivated. Good that they still exist and glad that the machine works with belts. The strap needs to be trimmed, I ordered two straps in case I get it wrong on the first try. Didn't need a backup. I watched a few videos on YouTube to learn how to choose the right belt size.
