I bought these pedals the day they became available about a year ago not only because of reviews on my social media but also because I was looking in the market new pedals for the steering wheel. At the time, the only other relatively affordable option was the CH Pro handlebars, which cost about $30 more. I checked them out and continued to use them regularly for about 6 weeks until the sliding mechanism started to become unstable and freeze up more and more frequently. I'm pretty sure this was due to the apparent lack of factory grease from the box. I mentioned this as a long term issue in my original review. But only 6 weeks?. It's too fast to have mechanical issues and yell about Thruatmasters' lack of testing and quality control. The manual says nothing about the need for lubrication, which was a mistake on their part. The problem seems to be that the entire underside of the device is exposed to pet hair, dirt and dust. It had to be a fully sealed bottom, like the CH Pro pedals, to protect the internal components from such exposure. So if you have cats or dogs around this thing, I'd suggest spending a little more on CH Pro pedals instead. However, its current price of $69 makes it $50 cheaper than its closest competitor. So if you're good at keeping it clean and/or running a really clean workspace, that's a good deal for now. I'll be back in a year to write this Amazon review because the price is right and I know what I'm getting into this time. Let's look at round 2.
