The purse is nice looking, but when it arrived, something seemed wrong about the finish---it felt like plastic. So I looked at the material with a 40 power loop. Definitely wrong. But it comes with a leather sample tag that is real leather. My town has a shoe repair shop that custom makes shoes and handbags from leather hide. They know their products. They said that the main construction of this purse is cow hide leather, but that it is bonded with a heavy vinyl coating (basically all of the outer layer that has the color and finish). The surface is vinyl and the inside is unfinished leather. So, yes, there is more leather material in the purse than vinyl, but the leather is not on the surface. It is all coated in a bonded vinyl finish---and will wear off and scratch just like any vinyl purse. The item is fraudulent. I returned it. The one I bought was blue (maybe the black one has a finished leather surface).
