These comments relate to using the adapter with an iPad Pro (3rd gen): When connected to my iPad Pro the power worked but the sound did not. I returned the adapter and bought an Apple/Mac adapter (audio only). When the sound didn't work either, I considered turning the iPad off and restarting it with the adapter plugged in. Then the Mac adapter worked (audio only). A few hours later I was contacted by Elsa from customer support who I explained the problem to. She suggested I try again and sent me another adapter and - unfortunately! If the adapter is plugged into a powered off iPad and turned on with power and audio connected, the adapter will work as advertised. Excellent after-sales customer service.
