This cable is certainly nothing special; it does the job and seems reasonably well made. But after doing A/B testing with a different, thicker OEM cable from another device I have, I found that this cable wasn't able to charge my small tablet as quickly as possible. From near-death to 100%, this cable takes 3 hours to fully charge the device when paired with the Anker 24W Dual USB Wall Charger, available here at Revain. Using a thicker standard cable from another device (a Bluetooth headset!) it charges from zero to 100% in just 2.2 hours. Big difference, all things considered. Neither the tablet nor the Anker wall-mounted USB dock have any sort of fast-charging circuitry, as far as I can tell this is largely due to this cable's unreliable design. Low-power devices, but if you've got something that likes to suck juice fast, maybe look at something else. Update: It didn't even last a year. I loaned the cable to a relative who must not have been as gentle with it as I was because I got it back three days later and the end of the micro USB cable was not properly connected and the exposed copper wires were exposed. She's only used the cable 2 or 3 times, and as far as I know, she's never pulled the cable by the cable itself, so it shouldn't wear out anytime soon. I leave it 3 stars; It's still a good cable if you're gentle and don't need high-speed charging. I also revised my review to change the load time. After more extensive testing under more controlled conditions, I found that this cable charges my tablet in about 3 hours, rather than the nearly six hours I originally stated, compared to the previous cable, which charged it in 2.2 hours into 2.5. I now have a six foot nylon braided Anker cable and it also charges it in about 2.2 hours so I'm still pretty sure the Monoprice cable isn't charging as fast as the device put it on can.
