At eh time of purchase, it was too large for my daughter, but after a year of growing she could wear it. She loved the dress. Some of the inner material did get caught and ripped partially from the seam, but the silk/satin like material wasn't harmed so the small damage from wearing wasn't an issue. Washed fine in the wash machine too. Just made sure it was turned inside out for washing and drying in the dryer. Did well in that machine too. ( I used the fluff/Air feature.
