Stay away from this camera. If you are smart, you will also stay away from this camera brand. Your repair service is INCOMPETENT. I bought this camera on April 19, 2013. It saw little use over the next few months. I've always noticed how the screen squeezes, focuses and white balances from the first time I turn on the device. but it took reasonable photos so I agree with that. Then I took the camera on vacation and it froze on every other shot. I would have to remove and reinsert the battery to reset the camera. I sent the camera to Nikon service. It comes back "tuned and cleaned" which means (I worked in electronics) that we didn't do anything because we couldn't find anything wrong. Judging by the delivery time, the device was in the service center for ONE DAY. so no one bothered to stress test it. So two weeks ago the same problem. I take some photos, the camera freezes. You must remove the battery to restart. I'll send it again. This time I explained in detail that the problems I had encountered made me think that the zoom motor might have shorted out, which could cause EMF noise and logic circuitry. A day later the camera returns. We cannot duplicate your problem. It costs me $10 each time to ship this camera to their service center. Why should I do this multiple times? You would think that on the second visit they would subject the camera to more rigorous testing or replace the camera. But no . it comes back without work. This is my latest Nikon product. I hope this review catches the eye of potential customers. I have a very similar Panasonic camera and it is RELIABLE. do yourself a favor Check out another camera brand!
