I wore the belt once and was glad both hooks stayed in the holes. The strap isn't very thick, so it may deform or stretch after a while, but it doesn't. This is a two layer BS that is falling apart. I plan to use it for my automotive related work so I like the price and lightness of the belt. The belt is really small. My waist is about 54, I bought the XXL and it ONLY fits the last two holes.
