I should have given this camera a low C. I bought it because of the external audio input it works with. SD cards mostly need to be formatted in the camera. It loses focus at the front end of optical zoom, requiring you to either step back or use digital zoom, which reduces image quality. The SD card comes out at the bottom of the camera. So when mounted on a tripod, it must be removed before the SD card slot can be accessed. A rather serious annoyance is the fact that when connecting an external video output, the screen goes black. Since the menus use the touchscreen for navigation, nothing but pointing, zooming and recording can be done without first turning off the external channel. I should have done a little more research before buying this camera.
