I love this camera. This is the camera that took me from standard film to digital. Without the cost limitations of standard film or the space constraints that digital camera memory imposes on the number of shots, I can take as many shots as I want without risk. This results in a lot more shots per event than I usually do. The automatic aspects of the camera work great. It is extremely rare for an image to be out of focus or incorrectly exposed. from okay Of the 1,000 vacation shots I took in August, only 1 or 2 were inexplicably out of focus and few others were too dark, due to the lighting conditions themselves being too dark to photograph. The camera is big and bulky compared to almost any other digital camera, but it's lighter than any SLR I've ever used. The lens is large and offers a surprisingly wide range (10x optical x 2 digital - 20x total zoom - is excellent). Images taken at 20x zoom are not pixelated at all! At the highest resolution, I get between 100 and 180 images on a third-party 3-inch CDR (less than $1 each). over 1000 recordings per CD. The only downside I find with this camera is that it can drain the batteries badly on a day of very intense shooting. I have a spare (charged) battery handy. We spent 9 hours working at Disney This summer I used 1.5 charges during the day.
