These cables came to me mostly bagged and not twisted, which wasn't a good sign. However, they did not look damaged in places with creases. My phone won't stay connected while charging and I can't rely on it for data transfer. I'm positive it's a faulty connector, which in my experience is too common for a Micro-B design. These connectors will not withstand small physical shocks such as may occur during shipping or mailing. It would be a good idea to wrap the cables in bubble wrap or put something over this connector to protect it from bumps. Everything is fine with the other cable, no problems so far. In terms of assembly, I've seen cables like this before. The braid is usually a plastic tube that holds and protects the wires. It's a good design as long as the tubes don't kink and the wires don't get twisted. Weaving helps a lot to prevent this. They were still cheaper than the ones I used and regularly replaced, and having the working 6ft cord helps a lot. I would consider getting more.
