Good ant at 2m/70cm may not fit all radios

Like: Antenna radiates F. Strength is good, 8 feet 7 inches good, extra reach better than factory duck. "Things long tilt, but receive signals. The first thing I ordered was an ant base so it wouldn't sit on top of my Baofeng UV-9S or UV 5R ht. This was caused by the molded plastic rim getting in the way. BUT wait, it was Abree's first defect, a little thicker. It was possible to cut or trim the bottom but I wouldn't recommend it. I tried my Wouxun KG UVD1P, it is fully screwed on SMA. . Always use the national WX channel to make sure you have RX before passing it on. I ordered a second antenna for another radio to use as dual band. Much to my surprise, I tried it on a Baofeng UV 9S and it fits/fits. The first antenna was widened at the bottom and did not fit into the smaconnection, but the last one, whose field strength is good at 2m, 70cm and 22-224MHz. If you can get a good SMA-F antenna from Abbree it's a bargain and I'm perfectly satisfied.

Pros
  • Great for small households
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
