I doubt I will ever buy a set of floorstanding speakers again, they are that good. When I do, I'll scour the earth for another pair of these. audiophile level. Worth every penny of the MSRP of $1,000 each. Less than $500 each and you're getting tremendous value. I took advantage of the great promotional price and am thrilled. They are ELITE because they consist of two parts with high quality music and amplifiers. They spoil you with a wide, great soundstage. Everything sounds perfectly reproduced. Connections connected or not, bi-amping, with or without subwoofer. they just sound AMAZING. You just can't go wrong. I've heard many speakers of this size and range and the RC-70's are second to none. I love Energy's bookshelf speakers and have had several pairs. First the CB-20 (great), then the RC-10 (insanely great). So when I saw the Reference Connoisseur series on the bookshelf I had great confidence in this purchase. You can find professional audio reviews online that compare them to pairs of $5,000 speakers. I envied the big Def Tech dogs and more. Now I have found my muse. That's great. With a discount, they're CRAZY. The tweeters (thin, very precise, crisp but not harsh or too bright) and the mids are very good, the bass tight, clean and full. I have a subwoofer, but the RC-70's bass is clean, deep and powerful enough just from the speakers. It seems they have a break-in period, which I initially doubted existed, but which many people observe and mention in Energy's literature. They keep getting better and better. The best decision I've ever made when it comes to speakers. *Edited: With the extra time I fell in love with her even more! They never tire your ears, they just open up and sound amazing. All music is good. Well received, good sources will shine. All genres too. So excited to join the Energy Cult! Consider me a fanboy. Buy with complete confidence.
