These are two layers of a thin and relatively scratchy material, probably cotton. I bought these hoping to use the iron on vinyl to personalize for school. I hand washed them in warm water and dried them on low heat. They have shrunk so much that my oldest child hardly wears them anymore. (He also tried them on before washing and they fit perfectly.) I had to iron them to even look at them to see if they could be used for vinyl and there is no hope for them. I can hardly get them back into mask shape to even be worn, there is no hope of a flat surface to iron the design on. They are for trash. To be honest, there are a few good things too - these are kid-sized masks as advertised. I received the right amount and they looked as advertised until carefully washed. They have flexible nosebands and adjustable ear straps. This could be a good option for school or daycare if someone forgot theirs for the day. Almost disposable quality.
