Let's face it - there are just certain things that don't need to be "lit" - unless you want to scare yourself unnecessarily but want to take yourself to the next level of OCD. I'm a cleaning freak, so putting these lamps in the bathroom was kind of a science program for kids. Oops! There is a motion sensor that stays outside the toilet that is attached to the lamp. The light is attached to an adjustable piece that wasn't really long enough to fold over the edge of the toilet. I know once the batteries die they go in the trash because these things NEVER piss! The speed of the light change is not what my kids imagined - I'm sure everyone loved it. Disco party, but that's not what's going on. I can say we tried them but I wouldn't waste my money.
