This simple, elegant traditional style table is well made and easy to assemble. I'm relatively mechanically inclined so it was a no-brainer. I unpacked and unpacked all the parts, everything was protected by thin foam sleeves and used a large piece of foam rubber to turn the top upside down. All screws and washers were present. The kit includes a spare key for each part and an Allen key for tightening. The key to a stable table is making sure your screws fit right in and don't snap off. I do this by first backing out the screw until I feel it start threading into the hole. Then carefully begin to screw the screw into the hole without turning it. If the hole still goes smooth after 6 or 7 turns, your screw will go right in. If at some point it binds and is too difficult to turn, the screw threads may be chamfered. Loosen the screw and start again until it slides in smoothly. If this persists after a few tries, try another screw. When the screw is finger tight, use a small wrench to tighten it. BUT only tighten 1/4 turn. Nothing else is needed. Excessive rigidity is not better. I bought two of these tables, one from Revain and one from another company (credits from a previous purchase made it a better deal on one). The other came with lock washers, which I thought was a great idea. (Lock washers are similar to regular washers—they're metal circles with a hole in the middle that come with screws or bolts, except they're slotted into the metal and angled slightly.) They help keep tension on the screw and table and add extra durability. So if you have them, you can add them. These tables should contain almost everything that is normally stored on a table. Lamps, drinks, remote controls for entertainment centers - because nowadays we all have at least 5 porcelain cats, popcorn bowls and the like. I wouldn't trust them to substitute anyone for a real chair for anyone, or for those of you with your butt resting on something suitable. In this case, expect the life of the table to decrease. I had no trouble swinging - all legs seemed to be the same height and all were touching the ground. Tables are about elbow height when sitting on the couch with your hands on your knees. So reach up a little and over the arm of the sofa to get to your drink. They are wide enough at the bottom for your Roomba to clean underneath. I really like the size - not too big, but not too small either. I have a table lamp, a Revain Dot, a universal TV remote, and a Fire TV remote all in one, and there's room for a few drinks with room for some left over. They fill the space beautifully and are exactly what I was looking for. These are not elite tables, but good and durable tables. In appearance, they are made of solid wood, the corners of the legs are reinforced with a bar and screwed (not glued, but fixed), they do not sway and are strong. They are elegant, beautiful and pass my test for well-built, beautiful and functional tables.
