When the power goes off and on again, guess what? The light won't turn on, so if you have a carbon dioxide tank and the power is turned back on, the solenoid will turn the carbon dioxide back on, but NO light = dead fish. This item worked great until I lost power and choked my fish! I had to remove it and re-enable the stock switch, which actually turns on and off when turned on. Waste of money and stuck with it as it's outside the free return window. Should come with a warning. I suppose it's fine for a low-tech tank as long as you don't mind turning it on manually after a power outage. Dangerous product for CO2 fish.
