I have had Western Chief rain boots before and this pair did not disappoint. My son got a worn raincoat and froggy hat so these boots match it perfectly! I received a size larger than his standard shoe size. They fit a little on baby's fat little feet, but unless his socks are wet or very thick I can put them on easily. And once those feet are in boots, it's obvious he'll have enough room for his toes to grow. As his feet get longer, they get a little thinner, so I think I can wear these boots for a year. The quality is excellent - durable plastic and strong connections. Several reviewers said the drawstrings on them snapped, and I can imagine how that would happen if a lot of pressure was put on them. Just look at the diameter of the strap - it's not meant to be pulled recklessly! They are designed to help the child get their foot into the boot rather than force the boot on. After a few weeks of use they are a bit scratched (1 year old + dirt and gravel) and dirty but there are no signs of structural problems. My daughter has had Western Chief wellies for over a year now and they are as durable as the day we bought them.
