I bought these lamps to mount under a shelf above a workbench in the garage and under cabinets in the kitchen. They are excellent for this purpose. Just note that they are very bright and you need to install them in a place where you will see reflected light. That said, don't install them where you would normally see the pipe straight ahead as they are bright enough to look directly at. They're probably good for planting plants too, because the brighter the better. The metal clips and screws provided were used to attach it and it was a simple process that took less than 5 minutes. I used an impact wrench, but I probably could have gotten by with a screwdriver, it would just take longer. You can also use regular double-sided tape (not included). Constructed of extruded aluminum and plastic, the lights weigh just 5.2 ounces, so you don't necessarily need a solid mounting point for them. The lights share the same recessed three-pin power connector at each end, so you can connect them at either end or daisy-chain them. The description here says to include no more than 6 bulbs in a daisy chain, but the documentation that comes with it says up to 300 watts, which is 21 of those 14 watt bulbs. The hardware also includes covers for any unused power connectors. The plastic cap on the tube is thin and flexible but durable. It doesn't crack so seems adequate for basic LED protection. Overall, I find these lights to be very advantageous and the brightness is more than sufficient for my purposes. I highly recommend them.
