These have been our son's favorite shoes (now 4.5 years old) since he started running - I have probably 8 pairs in stock. They always came velcro style until we ordered the last pair, 11.5, which came with laces. His school requires shoes without a tie so I'm trying to find a solution for her because we love her too much to change shoes. We've tried many, many others and keep coming back to this one. Pros: They are comfortable; have a wide toe; easy to clean; durable, never leaks - you won't buy shoes again until they outgrow them; go with everything and are very stylish and even a 4 year old loves them. Cons: the insoles are flimsy and if you inevitably have to machine wash them, they will come out and fall apart (buy separate ones); for velcro pairs - the straps are too short and when on the legs the sticky part of the velcro is exposed so you constantly brush your hair and rip it off (recommended raking with angled tweezers). I give them an 8 out of 10. And I give every other shoe I ever buy my son a 5 out of 10 or less!
