I love these old school military backpacks. Modern backpacks made of synthetic materials and numerous zippers always look loose. This backpack is top loading only, has a zip closure and a large flap that securely seals the opening. There is little chance that anything will come out of the packaging. I use mine for tree cruising. Marking and surveying of trees for collection or conservation. If one of my tools falls out of my backpack, if I stumble and fall, which is common in a rugged forest full of thorns and vines, my day is over and I have a mile-long hike back to my truck and a wasted day. . This package is great for my use case.
