I had a vision of what my living room should be able to do and this is literally the only ceiling mount that filled the bill. I have big bay windows overlooking the forest and the view is really amazing but it's also the only place you can put a tv and block the windows which made having windows pointless. I thought there were several ways to fold the TV, it was a matter of money, but I found out that there are only drop ceiling mounts or folding mounts for very small TVs, not the main family. I saw this one, watched the video, read the reviews and decided to buy and install it myself with the help of my girlfriend. We reinforced the ceiling because my house is very old and wood paneled and we weren't 100% sure it would hold the weight. This required a little extra work and made installation easier as we were able to template and pre-drill the holes before having to climb the ceiling. Not only does it work, but it's amazing how it turns my little cabin into a very cool place. The power cord was too short and I didn't like the idea of a wall extension and the company sent me a link to a cheap extra long power cord that is very thin and easy to hide. I had to buy a Samsung 15ft cable for the TV and I'm waiting for extra long HDMI cables to arrive soon to keep the cables and devices out of sight on a shelf. I was actively looking for a way to replace the remote because I've read several times that the company doesn't replace them, but some programmable ones work. Great that you have the same roof as me. I have a Samsung 55 inch LCD TV which is very light. Holds and works with no problems. It came with all the parts you need to get the job done but no extra screws that are easy to remove. So don't use the wrong size drill or screwdriver or you'll ruin the screw. Take home cinema to a new level or bring a breath of fresh air into your living space.
