Review on Morakniv Kansbol: Premium Sandvik Stainless Steel Fixed Blade Knife for Ultimate Performance by Jeremy Gulledge

Revainrating 5 out of 5

High-quality, durable utility knife

If you have not yet visited the Morakniv website, please visit it. They are serious knife makers. Although machines do most of the making of most models, they seem to know what they're doing and get it right. This is my third Morakniv. They all have the same quality features: mature, high-quality steel, perfectly heat-treated and always well finished. Their catalog contains dozens of different knives. Most have relatively short 3.5" to 4.5" blades, but thanks to the steel and heat treatment they receive, they perform tasks that most American outdoor enthusiasts only get from 6" to 7" blades would expect. This Kansbol model has a blade that is 4.2 inches long and 2.5mm thick. The blade is something of a drop point design. Like my other Morakniv knives, it came very sharp from the factory. The handle has a non-slip coating and a lanyard hole. . The only thing I would have preferred would have been a finger guard. The grip on this model flares out towards the front, but I prefer something with more finger protection. The blade stump is ground flat so it sparkles beautifully in the fire. Starter. This knife comes with a plastic sheath with a leather belt loop. For around $14, it's available with a MOLLE multi-mount system. This is a very durable knife and feels good in the hand. I would recommend this knife for most outdoor activities, $36 compared to knives 2-3 times the price.
